I was born in Gifu-ken, Japan and immigrated to US in 1963. After which I began to work in the restoration of oriental art objects, such as hanging scrolls and paneled screens for museums and private collectors. I learned these skills under the tutelage of my father, a master in this art for over fifty years. I studied this dying art in Japan and the US for more than ten years under his supervision. In 1974, I decided to study furniture design in one of the best art and craft schools, 'Skolen for Brugskunst' in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is my wife's homeland. She has influenced me and given me great support in pursuing this challenge. After graduating on 1978, I returned to the United States where I dedicated myself to establishing my own business. During this time I acquired expertise in a variety of styles and techniques with my vast experiences in: * Restoration of Antique Furniture * Design of Authentic Japanese Furniture * Design of Modern Danish Furniture * Design and Creation of Modern & Fine Quality Furniture * Reproduction of Wood Furniture I pride myself at being able to take on old, new and creative challenges. My artistic talents span the range from creating authentic Japanese cabinetry within the modern western techniques, to the new wave of 21st Century furniture. I invite you to view my portfolio and speak with my clients, whom I've satisfied unique requests for over the past 3 decades.
